The Day I Got Baptized

The day I got baptized was a day I will never forget. I fully dedicated my life to Jesus at least 8 months before I got baptized . . .

The Holy Spirit had been convicting me to get baptized for months, but to be honest, I was not going to stand in front of a bunch of people/men with a wet t-shirt on. This was a real concern for me. I prayed and told God that I had no problem with getting baptized, but not around men to see me have a wet t-shirt on. So, I finally was given the opportunity to be baptized by a Sister in Christ in the privacy of my home, in my bathtub full of water. After I was fully submersed in water and came out of the water, I didn't feel any different. It happened as I was getting out of the tub, it hit me, or I should say that the Holy Spirit hit me. The only way I can describe it was that I felt joy explode inside my being. Then I felt liquid joy being poured over my head. It was like a massive "joy" bomb went off inside of me and outside of me. In fact, I had to look down at my feet multiple times to see if they were touching the ground because it honestly felt like I was floating when I walked. I felt that a thousand pounds had been lifted off of my shoulders. I also had a mega smile on my face and I couldn't seem to stop smiling. The only regret that I had that day was that I didn't get baptized earlier in the day because I went to bed a few hours after I got baptized. I still felt the effects of it the next day, but not as much. From that day on, I started to have not just a personal relationship with God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son, but also with the Holy Spirit.

It is important to note that not every Christian has an experience with the Holy Spirit on the day they get Baptized. Some Christians become filled with the Holy Spirit in many different situations. The point is that you must become filled with the Holy Spirit and become Born Again. There are many Christians that manifest demons on the day they get Baptized. That is because the Holy Spirit drives out demons after they get Baptized. I know this to be true because I baptized a Christian lady and she manifested an "anxiety spirit" that was trying to choke her. I just laid hands on her and I commanded it to come out, in the name of Jesus Christ. That spirit just popped right out of her and she had a big smile and a peaceful look on her face.

A lot of times you can tell if someone has received the Holy Spirit because they talk about the Holy Spirit. You must have a personal relationship with God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit, because the are one in the same. If a Christian only ever talks about Jesus, or only about God, or only about the Holy Spirit, this tells me that there is an imbalance in their walk with Christ. Many Christians never talk about the Holy Spirit. They have head knowledge, but they don't live in Spirit and in Truth, which only comes from the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Then you get those Christians who swing the opposite way and do and say crazy things and say that it is the Holy Spirit, when it is really a deceptive spirit controlling them.

I highly recommend people to get baptized in full submersion water very soon after they give their life to Jesus. It can be done by another sister or brother in Christ, in your own bathtub if you feel more comfortable with that. If you don't feel that you have received the Holy Spirit, then just get into prayer and ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit so that you may become Born Again. I would keep praying that prayer every day until it happens, because you cannot go to Heaven unless you are Born Again and filled with the Holy Spirit. How do you know you are filled with the Holy Spirit? Trust me when I say you will know. The Holy Spirit always comes with great power just like on the Day of Pentecost. When you have a true encounter with the Holy Spirit, you will never forget it.

Thank you for reading and may God bless you!
